			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On Tuesday night a group of FitCampers met Nick and I for a different kind of workout, a 5 mile off-road trail run put on by the <a href="http://www.northmedfordclub.org/" target="_blank">North Medford Running Club</a>.  We had a great group of 12 of us run the race and a few had never run off-road or that distance in their life.  Congratulations to all those who made it, took on the challenge and crossed the finish line.   After the race was over it was high-fives all around and an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment and success for all.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Saturday night we had our first ever FitCamp Social/Movie night.  Many thanks if you made it, we always love sharing new experiences with everyone at the studio.  If you didn&#8217;t get a chance to drop in for the show here is a quick trailer of the movie we watched.  (Be careful if your kids or boss are around). </p>
<p>(After the movie we did 3 rounds of Fran, 6 round of Cindy and 9 one-arm deadlifts with 450lbs)</p>

<p>Also, before the show a bunch of us ran the <strong><span style="color: #339966;">Fitchburg Police Association Community 5k</span></strong> road race.  The race director and volunteers did a great job with traffic and the post race get together was a blast hanging out with fellow FitCampers and meeting new people.  We&#8217;re definitely going to add that one to our annual race calendar for next year.</p>
<p><strong>A big Congratulations is in order for the following FitCamp members who did the race on Saturday representing the studio:</strong>  (in no particular order)</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Hello and happy FRIDAY!</strong>  I&#8217;m pretty excited today because on Monday we start back up with our <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>7th Annual Summer BootCamp program</strong></span>.  Each year when we start-up BootCamp I always think it can&#8217;t get much better than last year.  This year however, is going to be INCREDIBLE.  Nick and I have been conjuring up new programs and torturous ways to help you take leaps and bounds in your quest for health and fitness perfection.  Workouts like <strong>&#8220;Outdoor FRAN</strong>&#8220;, <strong>&#8220;The 400&#8243;, &#8220;BootCamp Gone Bad&#8221;, &#8220;The Vortex&#8221;</strong> and of course everyone&#8217;s favorite, a new and improved <strong>&#8220;Gauntlet&#8221;.</strong>  (And those are just to name a few we will be doing over the first month).  <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Wait to see what we have in store for July!</span> </p>
<p>Well, as excited as I am to start BootCamp this year there are a few more things that have me feeling all amped up today.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;"># 1.</span>   </strong> Tomorrow, <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">June 5th from 10:30am-1:30pm</span></strong> Nick is hosting another <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>POSE Running Clinic</strong></span>.  If you are a FitCamp member and haven&#8217;t done this clinic then you are truly missing out on achieving better results.  This 3 hour workshop will teach you how to run more effortlessly, with faster times and avoid all those common running injuries.  Now don&#8217;t go thinking you have to be this all-star runner to do this clinic.  No matter what level you are at from an avid walker to an ultra- marathoner you will be blown away by how much this info will help you.  <a href="http://www.ultimatefitcamp.com/memberships/pose-running-clinic/" target="_blank"><strong>Keep reading&#8230;</strong> </a></p>

<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;"># 2.</span></strong>  <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Monday, June 7th</span></strong> we start our new Summer Schedule and have added <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">2 new classes</span></strong>.  If you&#8217;re a 4pm FitCamper you&#8217;ve been asking for this for months.  We&#8217;re adding in a 4pm TuTh BootCamp class for the summer.  If this class gets high attendance during the summer like the 4pm MWF then we&#8217;ll keep it.  <a href="http://www.ultimatefitcamp.com/class-schedules/" target="_blank"><strong>Check out our updated summer class schedule.</strong> </a></p>

<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;"># 3.</span></strong>  Also next week we will be introducing <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">THREE new instructors!</span></strong>  Now don&#8217;t act all shocked and surprised.  If you&#8217;ve been here over the past few months then you already know them.  <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Tiffany, Erin and Karen</span></strong> are certified personal trainers who have been working with me and Nick for that past 2 months going through our FitCamp Instructor Development Program.  All three of these girls have been studying and working their butts off learning the moves, the programs and tips to becoming star quality FitCamp instructors.  Over the next few weeks you will be seeing a lot more of them as they start team teaching with me and Nick.  Also we will all be launching a brand new <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">coaching program</span></strong> and Erin and Karen will be starting a revamped <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">FitCamp kids program</span></strong> in early July (more info coming soon!).  If you haven&#8217;t met either of these girls yet then please be sure to take a moment to introduce yourself next time you see them in class.</p>
<p><span style="color: #ff0000;"># 4.</span>  On a sad note, we will <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>no longer be offering Sat 8am or Sun 4pm Kickboxing</strong></span> during the summer months due to instructor availability.  However, Dee will be teaching a <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Thursday evening 6:30pm </span></strong>class starting next week on <span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">June 10th</span></span></strong></span>.  Make sure to sign-up on the whiteboard at the studio if you plan on attending this class.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;"># 5.</span> </strong> AND Finally!  to end on a great note&#8230; On <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Saturday, June 26th at 7pm</span></strong> we will be hosting our <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">FitCamp Summer Social/Movie Night</span></span></strong>.  Bring your lawn chairs and favorite Hawaiian shirt and check out a great movie (TBD) projected &#8220;Drive -In Style&#8221; on the studio wall.  Then hang out and share a few beverages, stories and laughs with your fellow members.  More details coming soon!</p>

I am sure the extra days rest will be a welcome retreat and you will come back on Tuesday feeling refreshed and rested.</p>

<p>The theme of the day was to <strong>&#8220;Raise Your Game&#8221;</strong> and based on what I am seeing in classes this week that is exactly what this event did.  Even if you were not there on Saturday you can probably feel the changes taking place.  There is a new focus, a new intensity and a greater purpose within the studio.  Members are working harder, taking on new challenges and supporting, motivating and coaching eachother like never before.   There has never been a better time to be a part of what we do in FitCamp than right now.</p>
<p>September will be here before you know it.  Now is the time to use this new energy and purpose to grow.  To strive for more.  To be better.  To make changes.  To eat cleaner.  To push harder.  To support, motivate and inspire eachother.  To take on new challenges.  To commit.  And to ultimately reach your true potential in fitness, sport, health, and life.<br />

<div class="mceTemp mceIEcenter" style="text-align: justify;">To all those who came to the studio on Saturday to make our first ever FitCamp Throwdown such a huge success.  I must say I never imagined the day would go so amazingly well.  From the start of the very first workout the energy was incredible as freinds, family and supporting FitCampers cheered from the sidelines.  As the 4 events unfolded the motivation has never been so high at the studio as each athlete pushed themselves to the brink and beyond.  By the end of the day it was apparent that this day would be a turning point for many in their own ability and self belief as well as a magnificant personal achievement for all those who participated. </div>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Nick and I just finished putting the magical touches on the first 3 WOD&#8217;s for Saturday.  These workouts are a compilation of all things FitCamp and will be a blast to do and watch.  We have never done these workouts in class so that should level the playing field for all athletes.  Also, keep in mind that if you see something in the workout that you think &#8220;OMG, I can&#8217;t do that!&#8221; there will be a number of options that will be covered on Saturday morning to ensure all athletes (recreational and competitive) will be able to finish all of these workouts.  This event is meant to be a positive experience for all so don&#8217;t stress about a thing.  Just show up, work hard to your own ability and have fun!  The worst that can happen is you get that much fitter!</p>

<p><strong>Competitive:</strong>  Athletes will deadlift (bodyweight for men, 75% BW for women) then do lateral jumping burpees over their bars.  Deadlifts 21-15-9/Burpees 9-15-21 in a superset format.  10 sec penalty for all unfinished reps within 15 min CAP.  Weights determined at athlete meeting and rounded up to nearest 5 lbs. </p>

<p><span style="color: #ff0000;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Recreational:</strong>  Both male and female athletes will do 75 Thrusters for time (65# men/45# women).  no penalty for unfinished reps, 15 min CAP.<br />

<p><span style="color: #ff0000;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Competitive:</strong>  Guys will carry a 45# plate 50 yards, complete 7 weighted burpees with 45#&#8217;s then do 14 pull-ups for 4 rounds.  Girls will carry 25# plate and do same # of reps but for 3 rounds.  (Band usage will be discussed at athlete meeting on Saturday morning).</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ff0000;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Recreational:</strong>  Guys will carry a 25# plate 50 yards, complete 7 weighted burpees with 25#&#8217;s then do 14 pull-ups for 4 rounds.  Girls will carry 10# plate and do same # of reps but for 3 rounds.  Up to 2 bands will be allowed in recreational division.<br />
