Challenge Details

I hope you are as excited as I am to start this weekend’s 6 week EXP Paleo/Fitness Challenge. I know I can speak for Nick, Tiff and the rest of us when I say that we are all really pumped to be starting this and it is perfect timing with everything else going on and coming up at EXP.

You may have noticed there are a lot of changes and energy at the studio lately and there are many more events and changes to come over the next few months. We have 5 new rowers (which you may be cursing us for after yesterday’s 500m row test), 2 new GHD’s are on the way, our new Pull-up Rig is in the works for early February, we have new EXP wall art coming by the end of January, the CrossFit EXP comp team is now in training for the upcoming CrossFit Games Opens starting Feb 22nd, we are launching our New CrossFit Kids program upstairs in just a few weeks and to top it all off Heather Lynn (our very own Heather from the 9:15am class) will be starting her own massage therapy services on the 2nd floor beginning next week. (You can e-mail Heather directly for more info).

Now more than ever is an exciting time to be a part of our EXP community and we couldn’t be happier than to share all the great milestones and events with you…Starting with this Saturday’s Challenge. This challenge is unlike anything we have ever done before and EVERYONE should be a part of this, whether you are in it to win it or just want to move one step closer to living a healthier, fitter and better life.

Ok, so here’s the scoop on the “EXP Paleo-Fit Challenge”

Paleo 101 w/Tiff – Coconut Water Does a Body Good

Coconut Water, “The Fluid of Life”

I have recently been exposed to coconut water and it’s amazing benefits.  Here are just a few of the major ones:

  • Re hydrates the body.  Coconut water is a natural electrolyte because it contains potassium, calcium and choloride than which makes it a great replacement to sports and energy drinks with less sodium and sugar.

  • Removes toxins in the body

  • Aids in digestion

  • Regulates Blood Pressure and increases cardiovascular health because of it’s high levels of potassium which raise your HDL “good cholesterol”.

  • Coconut water also has more nutritional values than whole milk with less fat and no cholesterol. (A great way to get calcium my paleo friends)

You can find coconut water at most natural food stores (Roots Natural Foods right next door to the studio carries it).  Some grocery stores do carry it as well, just be sure it is pure coconut water without added sugars.

Stay hydrated!
